Returns and Warranties
As per The Consumer Proctection Act (68 of 2008) there is no general right of return, however should you not be completely satisfied with any product purchased from Smartkit we provide a 7 day money-back satisfaction guarantee. You can return any purchases for a full refund (excl shipping). A handling fee may also be leveraged.
As official distributors for Sonoff, all Sonoff products purchased from Smartkit carry a 1-year guarantee. We will gladly repair, replace or refund any materially defective Sonoff product, within 12 months of purchase. The product must be returned for a technical inspection before a warranty claim can be accepted. We will not honour warranties on Sonoff products that were customised, damaged by lightning or surges, misused or abused in some other way. Installing custom firmware, unless done so by Smartkit, will constitute customisation of the product.
Please note the opensource third party Tasmota firmware is incompatible with eWelink. If you elect to have your device flashed the firmware cannot be reverted to the standard eWelink firmware, later.
We will not accept any general returns because the Tasmota firmware is not suitable. If you do not fully understand the implications of flashing with Tasmota then please do not request the service.
OpenSprinkler products are distributed by Smartkit. As such, all products carry a 1-year guarantee. We will gladly repair, replace or refund any materially defective OpenSprinkler product, within 12 months of purchase. The product must be returned for a technical inspection before a warranty claim can be accepted.
All other products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (unless otherwise stated) which will be honoured directly by Smartkit. All products will either be replaced/repaired/refunded depending on stock availability. Products will require evaluation by SmartKit before a warranty claim can be accepted. A handling fee may also be leveraged.
Kindly email us should an item need to be returned, please include the reason for the return. Include the collection and returns address in the email.
Should the item be faulty we will dispatch a courier to collect the item for an inspection. Should the item be found to not be faulty, or found to be misused or abused, we will charge for both the collection and return shipping.
If an item is returned within the 7 day money-back satisfaction guarantee period we will charge a 15% restocking fee if item is no longer in brand new condition and in the original packaging.
Smartkit reserves the right to refuse a refund if the item is damaged from misuse, items are missing, or if the product is altered in any way.
Smartkit is not responsible for damage or loss of any kind that may occur as a result of using or misusing any product purchased from us.
